Humberto López Morales (Havana, 1936) holds a PhD in Philosophy and Literature from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Specializing in Linguistics, Literature and Romance Philology, his teaching experience has led him to teach at various universities in the United States, Latin America and Europe. He is honorary professor of the universities Rafael Landívar of Guatemala and Pedagogic Francisco Morazán of Honduras. He completed his university studies in the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature of the University of Havana. He graduated in Philosophy and Literature (linguistic-literary specialty) in 1958. Two years later, he obtained a degree in Philosophy and Literature (section of Romance Philology) by the Complutense.

He is Honorary Doctorate of the universities of Valladolid, Alicante, Alcalá, Salamanca, Las Palmas, Costa Rica, Chile and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, among others.
