More than 400 researchers and a hundred volunteers participated in various workshops, micro-meetings and exhibitions at the Plaza del Arenal and the Alcazar de Jerez.
Nearly 8000 people took part in Jerez in more than 75 activities organized on the occasion of the European Researchers’ Night 2018. The Plaza del Arenal and the Monumental Ensemble of the Alcazar hosted a rich free access program thanks to the work of 400 researchers and a hundred volunteers who organized workshops, micro-meetings, tastings, a European corner, exhibitions and actions based on sustainable agriculture, aquatic underwater research, physics, medicine or heritage, among others.
In order to bring the secrets of science closer to the youngest and to the general public in a fun and different way, this consolidated European initiative was dedicated this year to the Cultural Heritage and it was held simultaneously in all Spanish provincial capitals. .
On this occasion, the European Researchers’ Night, set up by the University of Cadiz and coordinated by the Descubre Foundation, promoted by the Department of Economy and Knowledge of the Government of Andalusia, was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Local Corporation of Jerez.
